Kenny and Misty managed the Hoot Owl Ranch in Harrisburg, Nebraska for 17 years until life threw them a curve ball and moved them to Colorado along with their two daughters, Jacqueline and Delanee Grace.

Kenny spent the last 17 years as General Manager of Hoot Owl Ranches LLC. While at the ranch his leadership and innovation helped grow the ranch from 400 acres, 40 pairs and 25 horses to a multi-million dollar operation consisting of 16,000 acres, 650 commercial Angus cows, 150 registered Angus, American Angus test herd, a Wagyu direct sales meat business, 1000 head feedyard and a very aggressive Angus seedstock business. Over his career, Kenny has become very passionate about beef genetics, beef marketing and customer relations. After the ranch sold, Kenny took the General Manager position for Top Dollar Angus and is enjoying the corporate life while still maintaining their registered Angus seedstock operation that they partner with Misty's brother and sister-in-law. Kenny and Misty Stauffer are both University of Nebraska LEAD graduates. Kenny traveled with LEAD 25 to New Zealand and Australia while Misty traveled to Hungary, Romania and Moldova with LEAD 34 to study the ag industry in these countries.

Misty stays very busy chasing the girls around to all of their many activities and maintaining the Stauffer home. One of Misty's favorite pastimes is her love for cooking and sharing her beef story with anyone who will listen. She hopes to publish a cookbook and have a blog to further tell her beef story in the near future.

Kenny, Misty and Hoot Owl Ranch were the hosts of the 2014 Cattlemen's Ball of Nebraska, where they raised $1.2 million for cancer research and hosted 3,800 people at the ranch for 2 days. Kenny and Misty were selected as Citizens of the Year in 2014 along with being selected as one of the "Top Ten Beef Industry Leaders Under 40" by Cattle Business Weekly. In 2015 Kenny and Misty had the opportunity to accompany Governor Ricketts on a trade mission to the European Union to promote Nebraska beef. Kenny recently graduated the YCC program through Nebraska Cattlemen and served as past president of the local Nebraska Cattlemen affiliate.

Kenny and Misty are extremely proud parents of two amazing young ladies! With their recent move to Colorado, Jacque and Delanee showed their real character. Being taken from a small country school in Nebraska to a class 5A school in Colorado, they both adjusted very easily. They both showed a lot of character in the transition and represented their trust and faith the whole time. Not only did they adjust but they thrived!

Jacque graduated with honors from Castle View High School with more than 500 students in her class, coming from 7 in Banner County. She is currently attending the University of Wyoming, majoring in Animal Science with a minor in Business and Accounting. This past Fall she had the honor of being selected to receive the National Western Stock Show Scholarship. She is excelling and loving college in Laramie! Jacque has 3 focuses in life - Christ, Cows, Grades.

Delanee is a freshman at Castle View High School and is doing extremely well also! Coming in as a freshman, she made the freshman volleyball team, No Limits - Regional Club Volleyball Team, and varsity track in both shot and discuss. She is currently loving her power lifting class in school and is out lifting all females at Castle View and there are only 3 boys that are out lifting her in squat and bench. Delanee's focuses are a little different than her sister - Christ, Boys, Sports.
